Senior Counsel - Claims (Insurance)

What you will do

• Advise claims organizations and business leaders on complex insurance claims, coverage issues, risk transfer demands, and extra-contractual exposure.
• Provide strategic legal guidance on claims handling, litigation exposure, emerging risks, and alleged bad faith.
• Manage litigation filed by or against hirify.global-affiliated entities arising from claims handling, including declaratory judgment actions.
• Advise stakeholders on litigation strategy, risks, and resolution options.
• Escalate significant matters to senior leadership while maintaining ownership of case direction and outcomes.
• Conduct legal research and provide actionable insights for business strategy and risk mitigation.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• At least 8 years of relevant litigation or trial experience in private practice and/or at an insurance company.
• Significant experience with insurance coverage, bad-faith, and extra-contractual litigation.
• Trial and/or appellate experience and the ability to independently manage complex matters.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, written, and verbal communication skills.
