Company

hirify.global is an early-stage space systems provider that designs, builds, and operates low-Earth-orbit satellite constellations for mission-critical Earth intelligence and remote sensing.

What you will do

  • Own the mechanical direction of spacecraft instrument mechanisms from requirements definition through launch-vehicle installation.
  • Design, analyze, size, assemble, characterize, and lifetime-test moving mechanism assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly efforts for continuous improvement and volume production.
  • Support control algorithm development and tuning with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Lead mechanical content for internal and external design reviews and create mission-specific build procedures and documentation.
  • Support subsystem environmental testing, including vibration, thermal-vacuum testing, and system characterization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience designing, building, and testing high-reliability hardware.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD for component and assembly design, with SolidWorks preferred.
  • Mastery of drawings, GD&T, BOMs, FAIs, tolerance budgets, mass budgets, ECO/DCO processes, and PLM systems.
  • Experience leading mechanical design for complex electromechanical systems, managing small engineering or technician teams, and coordinating cross-functional work.
  • Must be eligible to access U.S. export-controlled information under applicable ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

  • Flight heritage and experience with spacecraft payloads, deployable hardware, or mission-level mechanical integration.
  • Experience with structural analysis, environmental testing, spacecraft thermal management, or ADCS components.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM, Duro or similar PLM systems, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Experience qualifying vendors, managing contract manufacturers, or working with optomechanical IR or microwave instrumentation.
  • Project management and cleanroom experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with equity compensation.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan and short- and long-term disability and life insurance.
  • Three weeks of paid vacation for new employees, 12 paid holidays, unlimited sick time, and paid parental leave.
  • Equal employment opportunity and reasonable accommodation support for applicants and interviews.
