TL;DR
Senior Structure Analysis Engineer (Aerospace): Owning structural and thermal analysis for reusable spacecraft flight hardware from early design through flight readiness and production with an accent on finite element analysis, launch environments, and hardware qualification. Focus on evaluating complex metallic and composite structures, correlating analysis with test results, and making defensible accept-as-is, repair, or rework decisions.

Location: Playa Vista, California; in-person five days per week. Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $195,000–$220,000 per year, plus annual performance-based bonuses and equity.

Company

hirify.global is an orbital logistics company developing reusable Earth-return vehicles for in-space manufacturing, on-orbit warehousing, and rapid global delivery.

What you will do

  • Own structural analysis of primary and secondary spacecraft structures, including modal, random vibration, static, quasi-static, CTE, and thermo-elastic loading.
  • Analyze flight structures, mechanisms, avionics enclosures, PCBs, and electronics assemblies.
  • Lead or support thermal analysis of operating margins, thermal gradients, and coupled structural-thermal effects.
  • Assess flight and test hardware before production and support hardware through qualification, acceptance testing, and flight readiness.
  • Resolve nonconformances, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend accept-as-is, repair, or rework dispositions.
  • Collaborate with design, avionics, test, manufacturing, and systems teams to build analysis models, correlate results with testing, and improve scalable analysis methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience, including at least 5 years analyzing complex aerospace components.
  • Experience with linear and nonlinear FEA using Nastran, Patran, ANSYS, or equivalent tools.
  • Hands-on experience applying analysis to flight hardware and supporting test, qualification, and production.
  • Experience analyzing metallic and composite structures under static, dynamic, thermal, vibration, and fatigue loads.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft and launch-vehicle load paths, structural sizing, margins of safety, failure modes, and launch environments including vibration, shock, acoustic, and thermal loads.

Nice to have

  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience with NASA, DoD, or commercial spaceflight programs.
  • Familiarity with reusable spacecraft, orbital transfer vehicles, or in-space logistics platforms.
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup with rapid design iterations.

Culture & Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with the base medical tier and all vision and dental premiums covered.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and nine paid holidays.
  • Daily lunch stipend, unlimited snacks, coffee, and tea.
  • Equity participation and performance-based bonuses.
  • Pet-friendly office with monthly company events and happy hours.
