Manufacturing Controls Engineer

What you will do

• Design, scale, and launch manufacturing equipment and automation system architecture for new products.
• Produce electrical one-line diagrams and schematics; support integration with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and equipment reporting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and improve testing processes aligned with generator goals.
• Work with machine suppliers on equipment design, acceptance testing, and integration into manufacturing operations.
• Implement safety systems compliant with ANSI, ISO, and OSHA standards for high-volume manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment downtime, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions to maintain uptime and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing controls in high-volume environments
• Proficient in electrical schematic design and PLC programming (ladder logic, function block, structured text) with Allen-Bradley and Siemens
• Experience programming industrial robots such as Fanuc and Kuka
• Skilled in designing safety systems for automated machines with relevant safety compliance experience
• Ability to apply physics-based first principles to improve engineering outcomes
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
