TL;DR
Disease Area Leader, Oncology (Pharmaceutical Strategy): Shaping oncology disease-area and asset strategies, commercialization plans, and business development assessments with an accent on translating scientific and portfolio insights into patient, societal, and business value. Focus on leading cross-functional teams, evaluating partnering opportunities, and addressing global health-system access and reimbursement challenges.

Location: Preferred in South San Francisco, California, United States; Basel, Switzerland, is also considered. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $197,300–$366,300 USD annual, plus potential discretionary annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do

  • Provide strategic insights and commercialization perspectives for the oncology portfolio and late-stage pipeline.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of disease-area strategies reflecting near- and long-term portfolio evolution.
  • Contribute to asset strategies, Target Product Profiles, Clinical Development Plans, and value-demonstration plans.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and integrated development and commercialization planning with affiliate input.
  • Assess external landscapes, partnering opportunities, platforms, and technologies to support business development and due diligence.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of scientific and commercial experience in the oncology therapeutic area.
  • Strong understanding of the global pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, health systems, access, reimbursement, and product life-cycle planning.
  • Proven ability to lead, collaborate, and influence across complex matrix organizations and multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated strategic orientation, agility, and cross-functional team leadership.
  • Fluent written and verbal English.

Nice to have

  • Experience in development, portfolio, partnering, commercialization, consulting, or medical affairs.
  • An established external oncology stakeholder network.
  • MBA, MD, PhD, or another relevant graduate or postgraduate degree.
