Director/Senior Director, Product - Applied Data Science

Location: New York City or Boston metro areas with a hybrid model requiring 3 days per week in office. Applicants in the Research Triangle, NC, and San Francisco Bay Area may also be considered. Candidates must reside in these locations or be willing to relocate.

Total compensation: $245,000–$307,000 per year, plus equity, comprehensive benefits, and perks.

What you will do

• Own the strategy for scaling data science work supporting asset acquisition and diligence.
• Determine which one-off analyses should become exhaustive landscape analyses or engineered, maintained tools.
• Direct a working team of data scientists and engineers, set the roadmap, and sequence work according to business impact.
• Partner with Data Science and Business Development to translate scientific findings into scalable capabilities.
• Guide technical approaches covering statistical validity, pipeline design, and dataset evaluation.
• Identify and pitch AI opportunities for asset acquisition and diligence, including resourcing and expected business impact.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data science, applied science, or technical product roles, including responsibility for turning analytical work into a deployed capability.
• Experience in biotech, pharma, or a related life sciences industry, with a strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle.
• Fluency in AI/ML evaluation, statistical validity at scale, build-versus-buy decisions, and technical trade-offs.
• Experience directing or coordinating data science and engineering teams with strong technical credibility.
• Ability to discuss diligence findings, asset valuation, and scientific risk with senior leaders.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to the New York City, Boston, Research Triangle, or San Francisco Bay Area locations.
