Software Engineer (Mainframe)

Salary: $92,040–$174,840 annually; location-specific ranges may apply.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic running on mainframe systems.
• Monitor architecture, identify inefficiencies, and optimize code for mainframe performance.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze complex system interactions in mission-critical applications.
• Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.
• Support modernization initiatives that connect mainframe data with cloud and mobile applications.

Requirements

• Experience as a software engineer on complex software projects.
• Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills with Java, Python, .NET, or similar technologies.
• Experience developing scalable and robust software using established development methodologies.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, and REST-based web services.
• Understanding of microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, messaging queues, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Certification in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with DevOps tools and modern engineering practices.
