Salary: $139,400–$205,000 USD annually, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Own the architecture, design, and execution of closure systems for a next-generation autonomous delivery vehicle.
• Design hinges, latches, actuators, linkages, counterbalance systems, and environmental sealing solutions.
• Develop robust mechanical assemblies that meet durability, cost, reliability, and manufacturability requirements across millions of delivery cycles.
• Collaborate with industrial design, vehicle architecture, systems engineering, manufacturing, reliability, and operations teams.
• Support products from concept through production, including CAD reviews, prototype troubleshooting, and assembly-quality improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience designing automotive body, closure, or mechanism systems from concept through production.
• Deep expertise in closure mechanisms, structural design, fatigue, durability, corrosion prevention, and environmental sealing.
• Experience designing for high-volume manufacturing, including sheet metal stamping, castings, injection molding, extrusions, and welded assemblies.
• Extensive CAD experience with NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA, plus complex parametric assembly modeling.
• Proficiency in tolerance analysis, stack-up management, GD&T, simulation, and cross-functional technical leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with commercial vehicles, autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other high-duty-cycle products.
• Experience with FEA, kinematic analysis, MATLAB, Python, or similar engineering validation tools.
