Software Engineer, Price Experience (Python/Django)

What you will do

• Build pet parent- and care provider-facing features that make pricing clear, fair, and actionable.
• Own projects end-to-end, from understanding requirements and planning through deployment and production monitoring.
• Diagnose issues across the technical stack and collaborate with product, design, and data science.
• Write clear, well-tested code and contribute through code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Apply monitoring practices, document work, communicate priorities, and improve team processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Backend engineering experience, ideally with Python and Django; experience with Java, Go, C#, or Kotlin is also welcome.
• Working knowledge of web applications, ideally with React or a similar modern frontend framework.
• Familiarity with relational databases and basic schema design.
• Experience or developing proficiency with structured logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and production observability.
• Solid automated testing habits and daily use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code or Copilot.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed systems, async task queues, caching layers, or event-driven architectures.
• Experience designing REST APIs at scale.
• Exposure to continuous deployment and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Experience building custom AI-assisted development workflows and automating repetitive tasks.
