What you will do

• Develop and execute battery test campaigns covering performance, aging, safety, and reliability.
• Create robotic duty-cycle profiles representing transient loads, regenerative events, and continuous operation.
• Characterize cells, modules, packs, and complete robotic battery systems under realistic conditions.
• Identify degradation mechanisms, failure modes, and performance limitations through structured testing and analysis.
• Support validation of battery management strategies, including SoC, SoH, fault detection, and protection.
• Deliver recommendations that improve battery design, algorithms, safety, and field performance.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in battery testing, validation, reliability engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of lithium-ion battery behavior, degradation mechanisms, and safety considerations.
• Hands-on experience with lithium-ion cells, modules, or battery packs, battery cyclers, environmental chambers, and laboratory equipment.
• Experience analyzing test data with Python, MATLAB, or similar technical computing tools.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment, follow rigorous safety procedures, troubleshoot issues, and communicate findings across engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Battery testing experience in robotics, automotive, aerospace, industrial equipment, or other high-reliability systems.
• Familiarity with BMS, SoC/SoH estimation, battery algorithms, and battery safety standards such as UN38.3, IEC 62133, UL, or ISO 26262.
• Experience developing automated test systems and scripting test workflows.
• Experience with environmental, thermal, vibration, abuse, durability, field-data, or fleet-level reliability testing.
