AI Engineer

Location: New York, hybrid

Salary: $170,000–$300,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Design and iterate on AI agent behavior across real go-to-market workflows such as market sourcing, audience building, and enrichment.
• Map manual multi-step workflows into reliable agent-driven product flows.
• Build evaluation frameworks that measure task completion, quality, regressions, and performance.
• Develop agent infrastructure including harnesses, memory systems, tool infrastructure, and retrieval architecture.
• Improve prompting, tool use, context construction, guardrails, and production feedback loops.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to take agent features from prototypes through beta and general availability.

Requirements

• Experience building or shipping production systems with LLMs or AI agents.
• Strong backend fundamentals in APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience designing model or agent evaluations and turning quality questions into measurable signals.
• Ability to debug real-world failures and improve system robustness through rapid iteration.
• Experience with prompting, tool-use design, agent orchestration, retrieval, structured extraction, or fine-tuning.
• Experience with agent frameworks, tool-calling systems, vector or hybrid search, or RAG.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining evaluation or benchmark infrastructure for LLM-based systems.
• Experience with GTM, sales, or marketing workflows.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, Python, AWS, Aurora/Postgres, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, OpenSearch, Redis, Terraform, or Datadog.
