Customer Engineer (ML/AI)

Location: San Francisco; hybrid

Salary: $170K–$199K annually, plus equity

hirify.global develops a platform built on Ray that enables developers and data scientists to scale machine learning applications from laptops to distributed clusters.

What you will do

• Help customers onboard, adopt, and expand usage of the hirify.global platform.
• Resolve customer issues end-to-end through troubleshooting, triage, escalation, and final resolution.
• Act as a technical advisor and internal champion for key customer accounts.
• Support a follow-the-sun model for continuity on high-priority tickets.
• Track bugs and feature requests, provide customer updates, and influence prioritization.
• Improve internal tools, documentation, playbooks, and product experience in collaboration with product and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in a machine learning role, ideally in a dynamic or startup-like environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer needs simultaneously.
• Experience developing data pipelines for LLM training, fine-tuning, inference, and serving.
• Experience running and optimizing distributed ML infrastructure on AWS/EKS, GCP/GKE, or Azure/AKS.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong ownership and self-motivation.
• Willingness to mentor peers through training and shadowing.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ray.
• Knowledge of MLOps platforms.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
