What you will do

  • Design and implement onboarding workflows tailored to new hires' roles and journeys.
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processes including audits, time off, premium pay calculations, and compliance.
  • Administer employee benefits, open enrollment, qualifying life events, and serve as primary contact for benefits inquiries.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and audit employee records, job changes, and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, California, and San Francisco labor laws and reporting requirements.
  • Support HR operations including employee relations, leaves, accommodations, and separation workflows.

Requirements

  • Must have 3-5 years of HR operations experience in California, including managing hourly and exempt employee populations.
  • Fluency in Rippling HRIS system with ability to architect and troubleshoot workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of California wage and hour laws, including overtime and meal/rest break rules.
  • Experience administering group health benefits and managing carrier relationships.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process ownership with ability to build and refine processes in a scaling environment.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with San Francisco-specific compliance requirements such as HCSO, SF PPLO, and Fair Chance Ordinance.
  • Experience working in startups or high-growth companies with process building from scratch.
  • Background as an HR generalist understanding broader HR operations context.
