People Operations Generalist

Location: New York, United States; on-site

Salary: $115,000–$145,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own and continuously improve the new-hire onboarding experience, tracking internal tasks through completion.
• Act as the first point of contact for employee questions across the HR lifecycle and route complex issues to the appropriate People team member or external partner.
• Maintain and improve self-service resources, including FAQs and Notion pages.
• Support the rollout of People programs and policies through communication planning, manager enablement, and documentation.
• Coordinate employee experience programs and events, including team offsites and milestone recognition.
• Process promotions and equity refreshes, prepare updated employment letters, and maintain compliant employee files.

Requirements

• 2+ years of People Operations experience, preferably in a high-growth startup.
• Ability to build and document HR processes from the ground up.
• Strong written communication and the ability to adapt information to the audience.
• Experience managing employee data accurately and discreetly.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
