Product Manager Airspace & Autonomy - DoorDash Air

Location: Remote within the United States, with periodic travel to engineering, flight-test, integration, and operational deployment locations.

Salary: $193,800–$285,000 USD annual base salary, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end product strategy, architecture, roadmap, and investment priorities for safety-critical drone delivery software, services, platform infrastructure, and integrations.
• Integrate merchant preparation, order readiness, dispatch, routing, delivery-zone eligibility, aircraft availability, weather, airspace, and operational constraints into the hirify.global marketplace.
• Lead product direction for autonomy capabilities including mission planning, path and motion planning, contingency handling, rerouting, detect-and-avoid, vehicle health, payload handling, and remote assistance.
• Define the roadmap from one operator supervising one aircraft to increasingly autonomous multi-aircraft operations, including fleet orchestration, exception management, and human-autonomy interfaces.
• Build UTM and airspace-management capabilities covering deconfliction, dynamic rerouting, authorization, conformance monitoring, and interoperability.
• Establish success metrics, make build-versus-buy decisions, productize regulatory compliance, and shape the organization needed to scale drone delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product management, technical product leadership, systems leadership, or related experience with complex software or cyber-physical platforms.
• 5+ years in autonomous systems, robotics, UAS, aviation technology, safety-critical systems, or another highly regulated operating environment.
• Track record of taking technically complex products from concept or prototype through validation, deployment, and operational scale.
• Experience spanning embedded or vehicle software, cloud services, APIs, data infrastructure, operational applications, and hardware integration.
• Technical fluency in mission planning, path and motion planning, perception, localization, guidance and control, simulation, telemetry, command and control, and contingency handling.
• Experience with UTM, airspace management, geospatial data, FAA-regulated environments, BVLOS approvals, and human-supervised or multi-vehicle autonomy.
