Product Manager, Safe Access (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY; staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time.

Annual salary: $305,000–$385,000 USD

What you will do

• Own the product strategy and roadmap for account and access primitives, including access programs, accounts, organization linking, verifications, user APIs, and internal tooling.
• Define the end-to-end experience for internal stakeholders, external customers, and partners across Claude products and other surfaces.
• Support API design and user experience for platforms, resellers, and internal services integrating with access APIs.
• Partner with trusted access and verification product managers to build shared primitives instead of one-off solutions.
• Coordinate product, safeguards, legal, and go-to-market requirements and drive alignment when priorities conflict.

Requirements

• Strong execution skills and a track record of shipping products through ambiguity and cross-organization dependencies.
• Clear written communication for engineers, executives, and external partners.
• End-to-end ownership of a developer platform, identity, authorization, or access-management product.
• Experience as a product manager; for most candidates, this means five or more years of experience.
• Experience with multi-tenant platforms, account or identity systems spanning multiple products, or zero-to-one product development is valuable for the role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• 8+ years of product management experience.
• Experience with platforms used by first-party applications, direct API customers, and third-party developers.
• Experience building account, identity, or subscription systems across multiple products.
• Experience taking a product from zero to one while defining users, product scope, and requirements.
