Research Assistant / Technician 2 (Traumatic Brain Injury Research)

Location: hirify.global Vancouver Campus and the Research office at 219 Main Street, Vancouver, BC, Canada; occasional travel to community sites such as hirify.global Hospital is required.

Salary: CAD 4,597.80–5,469.59 per month

hirify.global is a university research institution conducting interdisciplinary medical and community-based research.

What you will do

• Act as the first point of contact for traumatic brain injury research studies and recruit participants.
• Conduct study visits, obtain informed consent, administer questionnaires and cognitive assessments, and accompany participants to the hirify.global MRI unit.
• Validate, clean, gather, and analyze research data, including clinical chart extraction and elementary statistical analysis.
• Maintain accurate research records and communicate effectively with community partners.
• Prepare and edit grant and manuscript drafts, conduct literature searches, and update research protocols.
• Prepare, track, and submit ethics applications in accordance with Good Clinical Practice and hirify.global policies.

Requirements

• High school graduation, additional training in a related field, and at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and in community environments, including acute care hospital units.
• Critical thinking, initiative, self-direction, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and develop knowledge and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• A Criminal Record Check is required.

• Previous research experience is an asset.
