Research Scientist (Materials Science)

Location: On-site in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 75,000–110,000 per year

What you will do

• Design experiments for OLED device performance and material characterization.
• Conduct literature reviews, analyze experimental data, and present project findings and follow-up objectives.
• Operate, troubleshoot, modify, and set up R&D equipment in collaboration with Facility Engineers.
• Collaborate with software engineers to improve research programs and software.
• Prepare reports, assembly and test documentation, and support ongoing projects.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and follow established safety procedures and protocols.

Requirements

• PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering.
• Fewer than 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
• At least 4 years of experience characterizing and developing advanced semiconductor devices, including LEDs, OLEDs, organic solar cells, or perovskite solar cells.
• Hands-on experience with thin-film engineering and chemical or physical vapor deposition.
• In-depth understanding of vacuum systems and processing engineering, including design of experiments, root-cause analysis, and process optimization.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends and relationships, manage projects independently, and communicate findings effectively.
