Chemist (10-month assignment) - Afternoon Shift

Location: Alliston, Ontario, Canada; onsite afternoon shift, Saturday to Tuesday, 15:00–23:30 EST

Salary: CAD 72,080–108,120 annually, including base salary and estimated target incentive payout

What you will do

• Perform chemical analysis of final products and in-process samples using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques.
• Assess results against specifications and take appropriate action when results fall outside specified limits.
• Enter, approve, and forward analysis reports in the Laboratory Information Management System.
• Maintain the chemistry laboratory, including cleaning, waste disposal, glassware care, and removal of expired reagents.
• Perform preventive maintenance on quality management laboratory equipment.
• Coordinate manufacturer service visits when equipment malfunctions occur.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of analytical chemical testing laboratory experience.
• Experience with quality laboratory equipment and computerized laboratory systems.
• Analytical testing experience with techniques such as HPLC, ICP-MS, GC, atomic absorption, UV-VIS, flame photometry, and IR spectroscopy.
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• More than two years of chemical laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with LIMS.
• Technical writing experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
