Associate Director / Director, Strategic Finance

Location: On-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

Expected base salary: $148,000–$224,000 USD per year, plus bonus potential and early-stage equity.

What you will do

• Structure and model the economics of complex, multi-year strategic partnerships and commercial agreements.
• Coordinate deal execution across Finance, Legal, Commercial, and Science from term sheet through signature and handoff.
• Support contract negotiations, revenue recognition analysis, pricing benchmarks, and accounting treatment for complex arrangements.
• Manage fundraising workstreams, including cap table modeling, SAFE conversions, dilution scenarios, data rooms, diligence, and investor materials.
• Build revenue forecasts by customer segment and product line, translating deal assumptions and pipeline activity into company-wide plans.
• Develop capital allocation frameworks and analysis to help leadership compare investment options across scientific programs.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, venture or growth investing, strategic finance, or a related transactional finance field.
• Experience structuring and negotiating complex, multi-year commercial agreements.
• Fluency in venture financing mechanics, including SAFEs, priced rounds, cap tables, liquidation preferences, and pro-rata rights.
• Working knowledge of revenue recognition concepts, including ASC 606.
• Strong financial modeling, revenue forecasting, capital allocation, and cross-functional program management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience in biotech, pharma, deep tech, or AI-native companies.
• M&A diligence or corporate development transaction support experience.
• Experience negotiating contract redlines and working with IP, indemnification, and licensing terms.
• Institutional investing experience in venture capital, growth equity, or banking coverage of growth-stage companies.
• Experience preparing board or investor materials.
