TL;DR
Installation Team Field Service Engineer I/II/III (Semiconductor Equipment): Installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites with an accent on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, plasma, and gas systems. Focus on diagnosing complex equipment issues, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and coordinating technical solutions with customers and internal engineering teams.

Location: Austin, TX; Boise, ID; Chandler, AZ; Dallas-Richardson, TX; or Phoenix, AZ, United States. The role requires up to 75% travel to customer sites and may require on-site work in cleanroom and industrial environments. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $37.00–$51.20 per hour for the Install Field Service Engineer III level. Other levels have different pay ranges.

What you will do

  • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, vacuum, hydraulic, plasma, and gas systems.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and implement solutions with support from senior engineers when needed.
  • Collaborate directly with customers and internal teams to understand production goals and equipment requirements.
  • Document service activities and provide timely technical updates.
  • Share technical knowledge and support less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification; an Associate's Degree is the minimum required education.
  • 2–4 years of experience in the semiconductor industry or another equipment-support industry such as medical devices, automotive, aerospace, energy and power, or electronics manufacturing.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude involving pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and/or thermodynamics.
  • Strong knowledge of hand tools and digital multimeters, plus basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license, ability to obtain a passport if required for travel, and ability to meet safety and environmental requirements.
