Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Chandler, AZ, United States; work is conducted at customer sites, primarily in clean rooms, with domestic and international travel as needed.

Salary: $27–$37 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain and service HMI MBI equipment at customer sites, including diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Install new equipment, upgrade existing systems, and perform system relocations.
• Prepare work orders, pass-downs, field service reports, system problem reports, monthly reports, and technical action plans.
• Advise customers on correcting system malfunctions, provide technical assistance, and train customers in equipment use and maintenance.
• Coordinate technical escalations with second-level technical support, applications teams, and the Global Support Center.
• Coach junior engineers and contribute to improvement proposals based on post-mortems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
• 0–4 years of hands-on industry or academic experience with mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, or semiconductor processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel VBA, plus basic programming skills in MATLAB, Python, SQL, or a similar language.
• Strong customer focus, professional communication, attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Legal authorization to access United States-controlled technology is required before starting work.
• Ability to work more than 50% of the time in a clean room, including up to 12 hours in a clean-room suit, and to work compressed, night, or weekend shifts when required.
