TL;DR
Applied Early Career Program - Field Service Engineer (Semiconductor): Installing, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting semiconductor equipment at customer sites with an accent on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Focus on completing structured classroom, laboratory, and on-the-job training while diagnosing equipment issues, communicating with customers, and following safety and quality requirements.

Location: Austin, TX; Bloomington, MN; Boise, ID; Chandler, AZ; Dallas-Richardson, TX; Hillsboro, OR; or Phoenix, AZ, United States. Customer-site work, 20% travel, and relocation eligibility are indicated.

Salary: $27.00–$37.40 per hour

What you will do

  • Install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment at customer sites with senior Field Service Engineers.
  • Use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot equipment performance and technical issues.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
  • Communicate directly with customers and coordinate with internal teams to support reliable equipment operation.
  • Follow safety, quality, and process requirements in customer environments.
  • Take on additional technical projects and responsibilities as proficiency develops.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, recent college graduation, military technical training, trade certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and interest in technical systems.
  • Ability and willingness to read electrical and mechanical schematics and solve basic technical problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport if required for travel; ability to meet on-site safety, environmental, and customer requirements.

Nice to have

  • 1–2 years of technical, field service, or customer support experience, including internships.
  • Associate degree in electronics, engineering technology, or a related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Exposure to pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, or thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic test equipment, including digital multimeters.
