Engineering Technologist

Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico, USA; full-time on-site

Salary: $80,000–$130,000 USD per year, plus performance-based bonuses

What you will do

• Support assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Scorpius accelerator systems and equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation for field execution.
• Assist with design updates, redlines, configuration changes, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers, operations staff, technicians, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Collect measurements, test data, inspection results, and other technical information for engineering evaluations.
• Support equipment readiness, system integration, work planning, and turnover activities while following quality and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, mechanical technology, electrical technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, construction, or technical field operations.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical procedures.
• Experience documenting field changes, test results, equipment conditions, or technical work activities.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, controls, or integrated equipment systems.
• Experience in DOE, national laboratory, accelerator, high-hazard, or other highly regulated environments.
