Staff Analytics Engineer - Product

What you will do

• Lead the design and delivery of production-grade interactive dashboards using tools such as Looker, Mode, Tableau, Metabase, or Power BI.
• Own semantic data models and product metrics covering events, user cohorts, funnels, and retention.
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for product and event data using dbt, Airflow, Beam, or equivalent tools.
• Define event schemas, validate data quality, and implement monitoring and alerts for metric regressions.
• Partner with product managers, designers, and engineers to translate product questions into analytics requirements and recommendations.
• Optimize queries, dashboards, and pipelines for performance and cost, while mentoring junior analysts and engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or applied analytics with product-focused experience.
• Proficiency with SQL, a modern data warehouse such as Snowflake, dbt or a similar tool, and a business intelligence platform.
• Strong experience designing ETL/ELT workflows, data models, semantic layers, and production-grade pipelines.
• Ability to work with product teams, define measurable metrics, and build dashboards that support product decisions.
• Strong data storytelling and communication skills for presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience establishing data quality assurance, lineage, and monitoring practices.

Nice to have

• Python or Scala, Airflow, Kafka, or streaming data experience.
• Knowledge of metric governance, metric stores, and versioned dbt projects.
• Experience in the insurance industry.
