Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Denver, CO; New York, NY; or San Francisco, CA, United States. Employees based in these locations are expected to work from the office approximately 2–3 days per week. San Francisco office expectations include the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

Salary: $155,000–$185,000 per year in Denver; $170,000–$200,000 per year in Los Angeles; $190,000–$220,000 per year in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York.

What you will do

• Frame loosely defined data problems and drive solutions from stakeholder alignment through delivery.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data products.
• Ingest data from APIs, databases, SaaS applications, and event streams.
• Partner with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions with business and customer impact.
• Build self-service tools, intelligent pipelines, and agents that automate repetitive data engineering tasks.
• Improve reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and observability across production data systems.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of industry experience in data engineering and scalable data pipelines or data products.
• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Scala, or Java.
• Hands-on experience with ETL, dbt, data ingestion, data modeling, schema design, and data quality practices.
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks.
• Experience implementing CI/CD, automated testing, data observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
