Analytics Engineer I

Location: New York City office (hybrid) — 3 days in-office per week; Thursdays required for team meetings and events.

Salary: $106,812 - $140,190.75 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain dimensional models and data transformations in Oscar’s unified data foundation.
• Partner with domain experts and business stakeholders to capture business logic and implement it in dimensional models and downstream semantic layer systems.
• Build and maintain models and implement automated tests to ensure long-term data product health.
• Contribute to the semantic layer that powers enterprise business intelligence.
• Support analytics platform administration, including participation in support channels and handling access requests.
• Use data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting pipelines to perform root cause analyses of data defects and escalate when needed.

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience with SQL.
• 1+ years of experience developing in a semantic modeling language (e.g., LookML).
• 1+ years of experience developing with a modern data transformation tool like dbt.
• 1+ years of experience with cloud database tools (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare or insurance industry data, analytics, and reporting.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and dbt.
• Experience building dimensional models (star schemas, slowly changing dimensions).
• Strong communication skills working with non-technical stakeholders.
