Analytics Engineer (Fintech)

Location: United States (Remote)

Salary: $140K–$190K plus equity

What you will do

• Design and build production dbt models on Databricks as trusted sources of business data.
• Support accurate, governed data for external reporting and business stakeholders.
• Own data quality practices, including testing, CI/CD, documentation, and reusable team patterns.
• Build and evolve Databricks dashboards and semantic metrics for self-service analytics.
• Partner with Data Engineering and analytics stakeholders to turn ambiguous business problems into durable data products.
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code and design models and documentation for both analysts and LLM consumers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering or an equivalent role.
• Expert SQL and deep dbt experience, including architecture, incremental models, tests, macros, and CI/CD.
• Strong experience delivering Databricks BI or an equivalent semantic layer.
• Daily practical use of AI coding tools with rigorous validation of generated outputs.
• Ability to work effectively with incomplete specifications, execute at startup pace, and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ownership mindset and experience maintaining production data models end to end.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with Node, TypeScript, NestJS, microservices, Kubernetes, AWS, or React Native.
