Project Manager CIO PMO

Location: Washington, DC, United States; hybrid with two days per week on the client site required.

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate project activities across PMO teams, establishing plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables aligned with CIO priorities.
• Manage budgeting, cost tracking, resource planning, and administrative functions supporting project execution.
• Evaluate processes, procedures, and systems, then prepare findings, recommendations, and practical solutions.
• Develop work breakdown structures, schedules, charts, tables, graphs, and other analytical project artifacts.
• Interpret project metrics, KPIs, and stakeholder feedback to identify risks and drive continuous improvement.
• Prepare executive-ready briefings and status reports while coordinating project staff, stakeholder communications, training, and adoption planning.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• PMP, CAPM, or PMI-ACP project management certification required.
• SAFe, CSM, or equivalent agile certification required.
• 8+ years of project management experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
• Experience with project plans, WBS structures, schedules, analytical artifacts, KPIs, change management, and stakeholder engagement.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust government clearance required.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting federal PMOs or CIO-level initiatives.
• Familiarity with GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Jira, or similar tools.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams.
