TL;DR
Sr Actuarial Associate, E&S/S Programs (Remote) (P&C Insurance): Providing portfolio oversight, profitability reviews, pricing methodologies, and monitoring tools for E&S/S insurance programs with an accent on program-level analytics, rate and retention analysis, and reinsurance. Focus on developing actuarial recommendations, applying predictive modeling and data mining, and solving complex insurance and actuarial challenges.

Location: Remote within any of the lower 48 U.S. states. The role does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization, and hirify.global does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

Salary: $118,000–$222,000 annual national range; expected starting range of $118,000–$178,000.

What you will do

  • Lead program-level profitability reviews and recommend actions related to rates, non-rate factors, business mix, and reinsurance.
  • Own pricing assumptions and methodologies for assigned E&S/S programs in alignment with reserving, planning, and target profitability metrics.
  • Build and maintain pricing and monitoring tools using BDX and internal data, including rate and retention, AvE/AvT, and segmentation analysis.
  • Partner with Program Underwriting, the CFO, and DDS to translate analytics into recommendations and support new program vetting.
  • Conduct complex actuarial analyses, document assumptions and methods, and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Lead cross-functional reviews, communication, onboarding, and training while exploring new analytical software and modeling approaches.

Requirements

  • ACAS credential; generally six or more years of actuarial experience, with progress toward or recent attainment of FCAS.
  • Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with actuarial methodologies, statistical analysis, actuarial models, databases, analytical software, and programming languages.
  • Background in the MGA/MGU space; reinsurance experience is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently, solve complex insurance and actuarial challenges, and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Must be located in the United States within the lower 48 states; employer-sponsored work authorization is not available.
