Associate Actuary (Analytics/Forecasting)

Associate Actuary (Analytics/Forecasting): Analyzing and forecasting financial, economic, and market data to support Medicare Advantage underwriting margin decisions with an accent on assumption validation, claims and premium forecasting, and stakeholder reporting. Focus on troubleshooting data issues, conducting root cause analysis, enhancing forecasting methodologies, and expanding models across lines of business.

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required.

Salary: $106,900–$147,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

• Analyze industry, economic, financial, and market trends to support short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts.
• Own input validation and reasonableness checks for assumptions in a granular Medicare Advantage underwriting margin forecast.
• Collaborate with data suppliers to understand data, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Support monthly presentations of forecasting results to stakeholders and strategic decision-makers.
• Enhance claims and premium forecasting methodologies.
• Expand the forecasting model to additional lines of business beyond Medicare Advantage Individual.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively in written and oral forms.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work remotely from within the United States and maintain a dedicated workspace for protected health information.
• Home internet with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds.

Nice to have

• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA).
• PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience with Databricks.
• Experience with SAS or SQL Server Management Studio.
• Understanding of Medicare Advantage Individual.
