Consultant, Claims Casualty

Location: Remote within any of the lower 48 U.S. states; occasional travel and possible overnight requirements.

Salary: $97,000–$180,000 annually; expected starting range: $97,000–$145,000.

What you will do

• Lead casualty claims and medical cost-containment projects from planning through completion.
• Prioritize escalated workers’ compensation bill reviews and support adjusters with file reviews, roundtables, and ODG guidance.
• Develop and improve policies, procedures, tools, workflows, and business process maps.
• Analyze billing trends and data-quality issues to improve billing accuracy, control medical inflation, and reduce loss adjustment expense.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate with partners, and ensure service performance meets expectations.
• Provide training, technical guidance, reporting, and consultative support to associates, leaders, internal customers, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse qualification with a coding certificate required; coding certification is expected within the first six months if not already held.
• Seven to ten years of claims experience, preferably in casualty and litigation.
• Experience with management, facilitation, negotiation, delegation, and mentoring.
• Knowledge of project management concepts, business systems, data processing, and data-quality problem solving.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, leadership, presentation, and decision-making skills.
• State licensing where required and completion of applicable claims certification training.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate degree in a related field.
• Business process mapping experience.
• CPCU, AIC, or similar professional certification.
