Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States. Remote-field position requiring work from home and in-person appointments throughout the assigned territory; candidates should reside within the listed ZIP codes. Occasional travel outside the assigned area, flexible schedules, overtime, and irregular hours may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Explain coverage, evaluate policy terms, and determine claim validity in accordance with regulations.
• Gather evidence, document findings, estimate damage, and prepare detailed reports.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other parties while providing customer service during difficult conversations.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits using policy provisions, industry standards, and company guidelines.

Requirements

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, interpret policies, and make well-supported decisions.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for documenting claims in the field and remotely.
• Valid driver's license required; a Motor Vehicle Record check is part of the pre-employment process.
• Physical ability required for walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing ladders, traversing roofs, and crawling in tight spaces.
• Successful completion of required training, applicable licensing examinations, background checks, and MVR checks.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of property insurance and claim handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building materials, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
• Rope and harness safety training or willingness to complete it.
