Claim Specialist - Property Field Inspection

Location: Oahu, Hawaii; candidates must reside within the listed Oahu ZIP codes and service the same territory. This is a remote-field position combining work from home with regular in-person property inspections; occasional travel outside the assigned territory may be required.

Salary: $63,089.65–$90,000 annually, plus potential yearly incentive pay of up to 15% of base salary.

What you will do

• Conduct on-site inspections and assess residential and commercial property damage.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Evaluate coverage, policy terms, and applicable regulations to determine claim validity.
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed claims reports.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to resolve claims.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits while providing professional customer service.

Requirements

• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interpret policies, guidelines, and technical information and apply them accurately.
• Proficiency with mobile and desktop tools for field and remote claims documentation.
• Physical ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, climb ladders, traverse roofs, and crawl through confined spaces.
• Valid driver's license required; rope and harness safety training may be required.
• Successful completion of required training, proficiency and licensing examinations, motor vehicle record checks, background checks, and pre-employment assessments.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, insurance, business, construction management, or a related field.
• Customer service experience and knowledge of property insurance and claims handling.
• Knowledge of residential and commercial construction, building materials, water mitigation, and inspection processes.
• Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactContents.
