.NET Principal Architect (Azure)

What you will do

• Assess legacy .NET applications and define modernization and migration strategies.
• Lead architecture decisions for migrating web applications, APIs, services, and databases to Microsoft Azure.
• Guide refactoring from monolithic applications to cloud-ready architectures, including containerized workloads.
• Define repeatable migration patterns and establish secure, scalable, and maintainable Azure deployment practices.
• Advise on database modernization, SQL Server performance, messaging migrations, and SOAP-to-REST transitions.
• Provide technical leadership to multiple development teams and support application migrations into Azure production environments.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of .NET application architecture, including ASP.NET, .NET Framework, and .NET Core.
• Strong experience with web applications, REST APIs, SOAP services, Windows Services, and legacy enterprise application refactoring.
• Expertise in SQL Server and database design, including performance tuning.
• Hands-on understanding of Azure Resource Groups, networking, identity, RBAC, security, App Services, containers, Azure SQL, and Managed Instance.
• Experience with CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub Enterprise and Infrastructure as Code with Bicep, ARM, or Terraform.
• Experience leading modernization efforts, including SOAP-to-REST transitions, containerization, and MSMQ-to-Azure Service Bus migrations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Service Bus, AKS, Docker, GitHub Enterprise pull request workflows, or AI-assisted development practices.
