Principal Product Software Engineer (Azure)

Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Hoevelaken, Netherlands (Hybrid: max 2 days at the office per week).

What you will do

• Translate complex product requirements into clear technical architectures and actionable design specifications.
• Identify and remove friction in the SDLC to improve lead time, cycle time, and release confidence.
• Lead cloud-native modernization efforts, guiding teams from legacy systems to resilient, containerized Azure-based architectures.
• Enable responsible AI-assisted development by establishing guardrails for agentic workflows and model integration.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers through design reviews and collaborative architectural problem-solving.
• Design and evolve API-first systems, ensuring strong contract discipline across REST, gRPC, and legacy protocols.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to commute to Hoevelaken, Netherlands.
• Proven experience leading architectural decisions in complex, high-scale systems.
• Strong background in cloud-native development and modernization strategies.
• Deep understanding of API design, contract-driven development, and system interoperability.
• Ability to influence engineering practices and team culture without formal authority.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystems and .NET environments is highly preferred.
