Solution Engineer (Data Governance)

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations may be required as business needs require. Applicants must reside in and be authorized to work within the United States.

Salary: $111,800–$167,700 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain Python utilities, automation scripts, and integrations supporting the data governance program.
• Extend governance and cataloging tools through APIs and SDKs, including solutions for Microsoft Purview and related platforms.
• Automate data cataloging, classification, sensitivity labeling, metadata management, and policy enforcement.
• Configure and monitor catalog scans, metadata harvesting, data lineage, and remediation of operational failures.
• Develop self-service access request workflows and low-code/no-code solutions for governed data assets.
• Maintain governance coverage metrics and reporting while supporting compliance, documentation, and continuous platform improvement.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building software utilities, automations, or data tooling with Python or a similar language.
• Strong Python skills, experience with REST APIs and SDKs, and working knowledge of SQL and data querying tools.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview is strongly preferred, including cataloging, classification, lineage, APIs, and SDKs.
• Familiarity with data governance and cataloging platforms such as Databricks, Collibra, Informatica, or Alation, plus data visualization platforms such as Power BI.
• Knowledge of data lifecycle management, data architecture, HIPAA, GDPR, and other data protection requirements.
• Must reside in and be authorized to work in the United States; willingness to travel and work onsite when business needs require it.

Nice to have

• Healthcare or revenue cycle management experience.
• Relevant Microsoft, Azure Data Engineer, Information Protection and Compliance, CDMP, or DAMA Data Steward certification.
• Familiarity with healthcare data such as EHR, ICD/CPT, SNOMED, or LOINC.
• Experience with additional scripting or programming languages.
