Solution Engineer, Data Governance (Healthcare)

Location: Remote - Nationwide; travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require

Salary: $111,800–$167,700 annually, based on experience

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain Python utilities, automation scripts, and integrations for the data governance program.
• Extend governance and cataloging tools through APIs and SDKs, including solutions for Microsoft Purview and related platforms.
• Automate data cataloging, classification, metadata management, sensitivity labeling, and policy enforcement.
• Configure and monitor catalog scans and metadata harvesting jobs, remediate failures, and maintain data lineage.
• Build self-service data access request workflows and low-code/no-code solutions for governed data assets.
• Maintain governance coverage metrics and reporting while supporting regulatory compliance and continuous platform improvement.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience building software utilities, automations, or data tooling with Python or a similar language.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong Python skills and experience with REST APIs, SDKs, SQL, and data querying tools.
• Knowledge of data governance, cataloging platforms, data lifecycle management, data architecture, and data visualization tools.
• Understanding of HIPAA and GDPR compliance requirements, with strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be able and willing to travel to and work onsite at client, temporary, or corporate office locations as business needs require.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview, including cataloging, classification, lineage, APIs, and SDKs.
• Experience with Databricks, Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or Power BI.
• Healthcare or revenue cycle management experience, including familiarity with EHR, ICD/CPT, or SNOMED/LOINC data.
• Microsoft, Azure Data Engineer Associate, Information Protection and Compliance Administrator Associate, CDMP, or DAMA Certified Data Steward certification.
• Openness to exploring AI and other innovations to improve data governance processes.
