Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, United States; flexible schedules include work-from-home options.

Salary: $146,200–$282,600 annually, varying by U.S. work location, knowledge, position level, and experience.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain production software using SOLID principles and established engineering practices.
• Contribute to architecture decisions for highly available, resilient, performant, and secure service-based systems.
• Use AI tools for specification generation, coding, code review, technical documentation, and ramp-up on new technologies while evaluating generated output critically.
• Participate in code reviews, technical refinements, and decomposition of epics into executable vertical slices.
• Collaborate with product stakeholders on scope, technical approach, and business value.
• Identify and reduce technical debt that affects delivery speed and software quality.

Requirements

• 8+ years of proven experience at the Senior Software Engineer level.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related STEM discipline.
• Strong understanding of SOLID design, CI/CD, spec-driven development, mature design patterns, and service-based architectures.
• Fluency with relevant programming languages, frameworks, databases, version control, CI/CD, containerization, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders, work through ambiguity, and apply systems thinking and product judgment.
• AI competency with the ability to assess and take ownership of AI-generated output.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript, Java, Salesforce/Apex, or Node.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs, service-based architectures, and data models.
