Director, Digital Foundry (Software Engineering)

Location: Denver, Colorado 80221; the role is also listed as Plymouth, Minnesota, with a hybrid or remote arrangement.

Annual base salary: $142,600–$250,900 in Minnesota, plus a 30% bonus.

What you will do

• Lead the Digital Foundry function and oversee software engineering delivery, execution discipline, team performance, and business outcomes.
• Direct teams delivering custom software, enterprise platform extensions, integrations, APIs, and digital capabilities.
• Establish engineering standards, governance, delivery practices, operating rhythms, and lifecycle controls aligned with architecture, cybersecurity, QA, and DDLC expectations.
• Build and develop engineering teams, managers, contractors, vendors, and strategic partners while strengthening accountability and talent development.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, QA, Cybersecurity, Integration, Data, Infrastructure, SaaS Platform, and business leadership stakeholders.
• Drive modernization, technical debt reduction, platform evolution, automation, engineering productivity, and AI-assisted software development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, application development, SaaS platform delivery, digital product engineering, or related technical leadership.
• At least 5 years leading teams, managers, vendors, or cross-functional engineering delivery.
• Knowledge of application architecture, front-end and back-end development, APIs, integrations, data flows, cloud solutions, SaaS delivery, Salesforce, IFS, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, DevOps/DevSecOps practices, CI/CD, release governance, delivery metrics, engineering KPIs, and lifecycle-based controls.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a technical, engineering, business, or technology management discipline.
• 12+ years leading enterprise-scale software engineering organizations, modernization programs, or SaaS platform enablement.
• Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, automated testing, infrastructure as code, observability, and release automation.
• Experience with AI-enabled development, platform engineering, internal software factories, or legacy application modernization.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial products, HVAC, building automation, connected products, or customer-facing digital solutions.
