TL;DR

Director, Software Engineering (AI): Lead the engineering organization responsible for Transitions of Care, overseeing approximately 50 engineers through 10–11 managers and senior managers with an accent on cloud-based platforms, technical architecture, and AI-powered healthcare products. Focus on aligning engineering and product roadmaps, developing engineering leaders, scaling reliable platforms, and delivering complex initiatives across the organization.

Location: Remote in Canada or hybrid in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Remote employees must travel to in-office events in Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City; hybrid employees must reside within commuting distance of the Mississauga office.

Base salary: CAD 211,200–234,600 annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and unify multiple engineering teams supporting Transitions of Care.
• Partner with Product Management to define roadmaps, engineering strategy, and investment priorities.
• Guide architecture decisions across core, application, and platform services.
• Coach managers and senior managers while strengthening organizational effectiveness and talent density.
• Lead hiring, workforce planning, and succession planning for the engineering organization.
• Support the development and scaling of AI-driven products and integrated data platforms.

Requirements

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience with significant leadership responsibility.
• Experience leading large engineering organizations through multiple management layers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Background in software engineering best practices, technical architecture, and full software development lifecycles.
• Experience delivering large-scale cloud solutions using Azure, AWS, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building and scaling AI-enabled products or platforms.
• Familiarity with modern AI technologies.
