Product Manager (Healthcare AI)

Location: Chicago-based or willing to work hybrid; regular in-person collaboration is expected for product and strategy work.

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 annually, plus equity.

What you will do

• Own healthcare products and operational workflows from customer discovery and problem definition through development, launch, measurement, and iteration.
• Lead working sessions with healthcare executives, operational leaders, frontline staff, and customers to understand current workflows and identify improvement opportunities.
• Translate complex processes involving patients, providers, payers, EHRs, external systems, and manual follow-up into scalable product direction.
• Prototype and test concepts with users, collect feedback, and continuously improve products after launch.
• Partner with engineering to define requirements and make tradeoffs involving usability, scope, speed, reliability, scalability, and business impact.
• Define success metrics, evaluate product performance, prioritize the roadmap, and help shape broader product strategy.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product management experience with meaningful experience in healthcare or health tech.
• Experience owning products or workflows from discovery through launch and iteration.
• Strong understanding of healthcare operations involving patients, providers, payers, clinical teams, and administrative staff.
• Exceptional customer-facing, discovery, communication, analytical, prioritization, and product judgment skills.
• Experience working closely with engineers and translating ambiguous customer and business problems into clear product direction.
• Comfort using modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar tools for research, synthesis, prototyping, and product development.

Nice to have

• Experience at an early-stage health tech startup, ideally from seed through Series B.
• Experience building products for providers, health systems, FQHCs, Medicaid populations, payers, or value-based care organizations.
• Knowledge of healthcare workflows such as eligibility, enrollment, revenue cycle, patient access, care coordination, referrals, scheduling, prior authorization, or patient engagement.
• Familiarity with EHRs, payer systems, healthcare data workflows, HIPAA, PHI, and healthcare compliance.
• Experience building technology integrated with real-world operational workflows and designing for busy, non-technical users.
