Property Claims Adjuster II (Waterloo / Cedar Falls, IA - WFH)

Location: Work from home in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Iowa area, with day travel to policy locations an average of 3–4 days per week. Onsite and virtual inspections are required, with occasional overnight travel and possible support for additional territories. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates living more than 50 miles outside the territory.

Salary: $62,500–$93,500 expected starting annual salary range; national range of $62,500–$115,500.

What you will do

• Investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and through face-to-face, onsite, and virtual inspections.
• Determine policy coverage, apply claims practices, and make decisions within delegated authority.
• Write estimates, adjust reserves, and manage claims from opening through resolution.
• Prepare severe incident and reinsurance reports and maintain accurate claim documentation.
• Partner with Special Investigations and Subrogation teams to identify fraud, recovery opportunities, and litigation requirements.
• Provide clear, professional service to policyholders, claimants, repair professionals, attorneys, agents, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of insurance field or property claims handling and adjusting experience.
• Solid proficiency with Xactimate and experience writing personal estimates and handling claims end to end.
• Residential construction experience, including roofing, remodeling, or water mitigation.
• Knowledge of insurance coverage, property estimating, investigations, settlements, repair procedures, and local market pricing.
• Strong customer service, written communication, verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; ability to inspect properties, work outdoors in all weather, work irregular hours, travel overnight when needed, and respond to catastrophe events is required.
