Director of Technical Program Management & Engineering Business Operations

Location: Hybrid role based in London and Bristol, UK. Occasional international travel is expected to support globally distributed teams.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow the EMEA-based Foundational Systems & Experiences Engineering Technical Program Management team.
• Establish operating models, delivery standards, governance, reporting, and execution mechanisms for complex cross-functional programs.
• Partner with engineering, product, architecture, operations, and TPM leaders across EMEA and AMER to coordinate strategic initiatives.
• Own annual planning, quarterly business reviews, goal setting, leadership cadences, executive communications, and organizational reporting.
• Drive metrics, dashboards, KPIs, workforce planning, budget management, investment prioritization, and organizational design with the VP of Engineering.
• Advise the Engineering Leadership Team, facilitate executive decision-making, surface risks, and turn strategic priorities into measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience leading complex technical programs in software, platforms, infrastructure, cloud, or related engineering organizations.
• 5+ years of experience managing Technical Program Managers, Program Managers, or similar functions.
• Experience leading large-scale cross-functional initiatives, influencing senior stakeholders, and delivering outcomes without direct authority.
• Strong people leadership experience building, developing, and growing high-performing teams.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
• Experience with annual planning, portfolio management, organizational operations, executive reviews, software development lifecycles, engineering processes, and technical architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience in Engineering Business Operations, strategic planning, or Chief of Staff-type roles supporting senior executives.
• Experience leading TPM or Program Management organizations in large technology companies.
• Experience working across globally distributed teams.
• Experience in gaming, consumer technology, platforms, cloud services, or developer ecosystems.
• MBA, advanced technical degree, or equivalent experience.
