Complex Injury Assistant Lawyer

What you will do

• Assist the Lead Lawyer with a caseload of high-value multi-track and catastrophic injury EL, PL, and RTA claims, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and fatal claims.
• Analyze quantum, medical, and liability evidence; prepare chronologies, identify gaps and anomalies, and highlight relevant issues for medical experts.
• Draft technical advice on indemnity, liability, quantum, causation, claim handling, and resolution strategy.
• Interview witnesses, draft statements, pleadings, and applications, and liaise with insured parties, insurers, witnesses, counsel, and other claim participants.
• Instruct counsel and attend conferences, mediations, joint settlement meetings, court hearings, trials, and settlement conferences remotely or in person.
• Maintain case management information, meet performance and quality standards, comply with SRA regulations, and support the development of Legal Assistants and Paralegals.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor, CILEX professional, or proven relevant legal experience.
• Experience of indemnity, liability, and quantum, with critical thinking and quantum analysis skills.
• Understanding of case law, litigation practice and procedure, and Court Practice Rules.
• Strong advocacy, analytical, communication, client care, organization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines, work under pressure, prioritize, delegate, follow instructions, and make decisions based on facts and law.
• Proficient IT skills, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office, and a good standard of education including maths and English.

• Experience handling claims involving complex medical issues.
