Senior Reinsurance Accountant (Insurance)

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote

What you will do

• Process monthly and quarterly reinsurance treaty cessions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
• Analyze and reconcile reinsurance-related accounts to support financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and record reinsurance journal entries and payments in Workday.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly billing for brokers and reinsurers.
• Assist with GAAP and STAT financial schedules and reinsurance system implementation.
• Support internal and external audit requests.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience.
• Ability to research and interpret reinsurance contracts.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including filters, pivot tables, and complex formulas.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance accounting.
• Master’s degree in accounting or finance.
• CPA license.
