Senior Accountant (Reconciliations)

Location: Hybrid in Columbus, Ohio, with on-site presence at least two days per week

Salary: $62,500–$93,500 expected starting annual range; national range of $62,500–$115,500

What you will do

• Prepare and analyze reconciliations for cash, suspense, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Research discrepancies and resolve reconciling items with business partners across the organization.
• Prepare financial documents, accounting records, regulatory reports, and statutory filings.
• Develop and submit complex accounting and financial transactions for accurate reporting.
• Support external audits, IRS and state examinations, and responses to reporting inquiries.
• Participate in designing new systems, processes, and workflow improvements.

Requirements

• Two to four years of related accounting experience.
• Undergraduate studies in accounting or finance; an accounting degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and/or STAT accounting practices and procedures.
• Ability to analyze complex reporting requirements and financial data.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with management and external entities.
• A valid credit and/or background check is required as part of the selection process.

Nice to have

• Experience with account reconciliations.
• Insurance experience.
• Progress toward CPA certification.
