Weekend Lecturer in Electrical Engineering

Location: All London-based campuses, including Central London, Wembley, Kingsbury, Harrow (Rayners Lane), and Southall, United Kingdom. Teaching takes place on campus on Saturdays and Sundays, with an additional weekday on campus; flexibility to travel between campuses is required.

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, pro rata for 24 hours per week over three days, based on a full-time equivalent of £50,000.

What you will do

• Deliver lectures, seminars, and tutorials in line with curriculum standards.
• Design and update teaching materials and maintain digital learning platforms.
• Set, assess, and provide feedback on student assignments and examinations.
• Support students academically and pastorally, including students with learning support needs.
• Participate in quality assurance, module evaluations, programme evaluations, and curriculum improvement.
• Lead modules where applicable and coordinate with associate lecturers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant Electrical Engineering field.
• Experience teaching in higher education and strong digital teaching capability.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of higher education quality assurance and validation processes.
• Flexible, student-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification if not already held.

Nice to have

• PhD, near-completion PhD, or equivalent industry experience.
• Research or enterprise activity experience.
• Teaching qualification such as FHEA, SHEA, PGCAP, or AHEA.
• Experience leading modules or academic teams.
