AI Governance & Legal Counsel (AI)

hirify.global is a Series A AI-native HR technology company building an end-to-end hiring platform with interview intelligence, skills assessments, and an AI interview agent.

What you will do

• Own the AI and data-governance workstream across enterprise customer pre-sales and implementations.
• Help customers address human oversight, fairness, explainability, bias, privacy, data protection, and regulatory-readiness requirements.
• Create and tailor governance packs, DPIA materials, risk assessments, model documentation, FAQs, candidate notices, and due-diligence responses.
• Track legislation, maintain governance matrices and artefacts, coordinate assurance work and independent bias audits, and support ISO/IEC 42001 readiness.
• Translate governance requirements into product and process improvements involving consent, retention, human review, contestability, audit trails, and reporting.
• Review and negotiate customer and supplier agreements, advise on contractual risk, and coordinate specialist external counsel.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer in the UK or another relevant jurisdiction.
• In-depth experience with AI regulation and governance in the US and a strong understanding of the US regulatory and enterprise market.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial technology or SaaS agreements.
• Ability to explain legal, regulatory, and governance topics clearly to enterprise customers and senior stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with AI governance, legal, privacy, procurement, business, product, and engineering stakeholders.
• Experience in a startup or scaling technology company and an interest in responsible AI for hiring and talent workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting enterprise AI-governance, legal, compliance, privacy, or procurement approvals.
• Background in HR technology, hiring, assessment, occupational psychology, regulated software, or enterprise SaaS assurance.
• Experience drafting policies, DPIAs, risk assessments, governance packs, and customer-facing documentation.
• Customer-facing consulting or solutions experience and experience managing specialist external counsel.
