Salary: $219,800–$302,300 USD annually for Zone 2; an additional Zone 3 range of $207,600–$285,450 USD annually is listed. Total compensation may include an annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

  • Own the day-to-day privacy compliance program, including priorities, metrics, risk reporting, and maturity tracking.
  • Develop and improve data subject rights, data inventory, data mapping, ROPA, privacy-by-design, and vendor-risk workflows.
  • Build privacy review and risk-assessment processes across the full data and product lifecycle.
  • Draft and negotiate data protection provisions, including DPAs, SCCs, and related data-transfer instruments.
  • Monitor global privacy and AI laws, support regulator inquiries and audits, and maintain privacy policies and procedures.
  • Advise incident-response teams on breach assessment, notifications, remediation, and cybersecurity-related privacy issues.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least 5 years focused on privacy and experience operating or leading a privacy compliance program.
  • Current knowledge of GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, U.S. state privacy laws, and international data-transfer mechanisms.
  • Experience with DPIAs/PIAs, ROPA, data mapping, data subject rights, privacy by design, and third-party risk management.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and software technology, with the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
  • J.D. from a top-tier law school and state bar membership in good standing.
  • Ability to work independently, manage cross-functional initiatives, and communicate complex legal concepts to technical and business audiences.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a company providing platform services to business customers.
  • Familiarity with OneTrust or comparable privacy-management tooling.
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or FIP; CIPM is particularly valued.
