AVP, Data Engineering

Location: Warren, New Jersey, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

Salary: $175,000–$210,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead execution of the global data strategy for the reinsurance division and translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Develop data and analytics technology strategies, roadmaps, architecture, tooling, and capabilities for a modern cloud-based data environment.
• Enable secure, reliable, high-quality, and intuitive self-service access to enterprise data.
• Support rapid ingestion of new data and deployment of advanced analytic models into production.
• Promote code sharing, inner sourcing, reuse, and highly automated DevOps practices in a cloud-first environment.
• Coordinate delivery teams and ensure high-quality project delivery within scope, timelines, and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, business, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in insurance or financial services, including required insurance or reinsurance experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering and delivering analytics and data access capabilities.
• 5+ years of people leadership or management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, relationship management, strategy, roadmap, and delivery skills.
• Proficiency with the Azure technology stack, including ADF and Databricks, plus cloud platforms, Python, SQL, object-oriented programming, and data engineering practices.
